Summer School

School's Not Out For Summer!

The summer holidays are upon us, and we are excited to announce our upcoming Summer School at our Tuition and Wellbeing Centre. As a trusted provider of educational and holistic support, we are thrilled to offer a diverse and engaging program for children from pre-schoolers ready for reception to Year 6, Key Stage 3 students (Year 7, Year 8, and Year 9) and Year 10 and Year 11.

Our Summer School aims to combine academic enrichment, wellbeing activities, and creative workshops to make this holiday a memorable and productive experience for all participants. Read on to learn more about the offerings and how your child can benefit.

Primary Summer School: Reception to Year 6

Our Primary Summer School is designed to keep young minds active and engaged throughout the summer break. We offer a range of academic subjects, interactive workshops, and fun-filled activities to enhance learning and promote social interaction. Whether your child needs extra support in core subjects or wants to explore new areas of interest, our experienced tutors are ready to provide tailored guidance and encouragement.

In Year 6, students embark on an exciting journey of preparing for secondary school. One crucial aspect of this preparation is focused on the CAT4 test and the baselines they sit soon after starting. The CAT4 test, also known as Cognitive Abilities Test, evaluates a student’s abilities in key areas like verbal, non-verbal, quantitative, and spatial reasoning. It provides valuable insights into their cognitive strengths and areas that may require further attention. Year 6 students diligently engage in practice exercises and mock tests to familiarise themselves with the test format and develop their skills. They also receive guidance from teachers, who offer valuable strategies to excel in these assessments. The baselines conducted at the beginning of secondary school provide a benchmark to gauge students’ academic progress and determine suitable support or interventions if needed. Year 6 is an important time for students to consolidate their knowledge, build confidence, and develop the essential skills that will lay a strong foundation for their academic journey ahead in secondary school.

Key Stage 3 Timetable: Year 7 to Year 9

For students entering Key Stage 3, our Summer School offers an opportunity to consolidate knowledge, bridge any learning gaps, and prepare for the upcoming academic year. Our timetable includes a variety of subjects, including English, mathematics, science, humanities, and modern languages, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience. Students can choose specific subjects based on their needs or explore multiple subjects to broaden their horizons.

Year 10 and Year 11

Summer school can greatly benefit children who will be entering Year 10 and Year 11 in September. This specialised programme offers a unique opportunity for students to enhance their academic skills while prioritising their overall well-being. In preparation for the important GCSE examinations, students receive targeted tuition in key subjects, allowing them to consolidate their knowledge and address any areas of weakness. Additionally, the summer school places a strong emphasis on promoting mental health and well-being, providing students with valuable tools to manage stress, build resilience, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Through a combination of academic support, interactive workshops, and engaging activities, students can boost their confidence, develop effective study strategies, and foster a positive mindset towards their academic journey. Our summer school sets a solid foundation for Year 10 and Year 11 students, equipping them with the necessary skills and support to excel academically while nurturing their overall well-being.

Creative Workshops and Wellbeing Activities

In addition to academic subjects, our Summer School places a strong emphasis on creative workshops and wellbeing activities. We believe in nurturing the whole child, and these sessions provide opportunities for self-expression, personal development, and building essential life skills.
