Why Don’t We Use the Ofsted Logo?

Why can't we use it despite being a registered tuition centre and childcare provider?

You may notice that we don’t use the Ofsted logo on any of our content or website even though we’d love to! Unfortunately, tuition centres can’t use the Ofsted logo, even though we are registered for out of hours childcare, due to copyright restrictions. The Ofsted logo is a protected trademark, and its use is legally restricted to entities that have been formally inspected and rated by Ofsted. Even though we completed pre-registration with an Ofsted inspector and you’ll find us on their website, unauthorised use of the logo infringes on Ofsted’s copyright and can be misleading as we are different to a school and can lead to potential legal consequences.

But…we are an Ofsted-registered tuition centre in Bradford and with this, we can make assurances to you as parents and carers that we place safety first.

Being voluntarily Ofsted registered has financial benefits for our parents and more importantly holds us to account, which means that:

1. Sowing Seeds complies with essential regulatory requirements with our Safeguarding Policy and Complaints Policy on display in our centre, on our website and as part of our sign up. Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 and as an out of hours childcare provider

2. All our staff have undergone safer recruitment and necessary background checks; we also insist our tutors have an Enhanced DBS on the update service (which we can help with!). All our tutors complete Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training as well.

3. Our environment is safe and suitable for children so that it can be adapted to meet the needs of every child. As well as feeling welcome, our tutors complete fire marshall training, fire extinguisher training, health and safety training, and first aid awareness. We also always have a First Aider and Designated Safeguarding leader on site. We are all fully insured at our centre, online and in your home and have professional indemnity, public liability and employee insurance for all tutors working with us

4. There are careful measures in place for child protection and safeguarding. As well as completing the above training, all our tutors read the up to date guidance on Keeping Children Safe in Education; our tutors also complete Prevent training, safeguarding awareness training, mental health awareness, neurodiversity training, GDPR and many more to ensure safeguarding processes and procedures are followed to keep children safe and happy.

As well as keeping children safe, we also prioritise our tutors’ wellbeing and all tutors and their families have access to our Employment Assistant Programme, complete all our training (and more!) for free and also complete ‘Managing Stress at Work in Education’. A healthy work-life balance is very important to us and we understand that having a full or part-time teaching position also comes with a responsibility to make sure the time our tutors are with us is balanced and well managed to support their mental health.
