On 10th September, we celebrate our first birthday since Sowing Seeds Tuition opened its doors! Over 90 students now benefit from our tuition and wellbeing services… and we continue to welcome more students each week!
One year ago, we started off with Rachel delivering English tuition and soon expanded our offering by welcoming Charlotte to our team to deliver primary tuition. As more parents heard about us, our team grew from strength to strength and we now offer on average 50 group sessions a week! We are proud to be on the voluntary Ofsted childcare register and have 12 incredible qualified teachers and 4 confidence coaches helping 5-18 year olds!
In twelve months, we never imagined has been achieved. Our provision has listened to children, parents and schools and evolved to help with the real need for more day-time educational and emotional support for young people not in education. So many children want to learn in an environment where they feel safe and supported, and it’s been incredibly rewarding helping children reintegrate back into education in a style and way that works for them to succeed.
We are privileged to have made special partnerships across West Yorkshire too and have more to share about this in the coming months! We provide on-site Youth Mental Health First Aid training as well as work with charities, including Child Bereavement UK, to provide a range of support to both children and their family.
In October, Rachel was invited by Bradford Council and was a guests on their table at Bradford’s Retail Awards! Sowing Seeds Tuition is also proud to have been awarded the Highly Commended Award for Community Involvement in Bradford’s Education Awards and more recently was a finalist for New Business of the Year in the Bradford Means Business Awards!
Rachel has also been a guest speaker (alongside the Mayor of West Yorkshire) and on a panel at several Start-Up West Yorkshire events, and is now sharing her success story as a case-study! She is also providing information that will be reported to the Department of Social Justice to share the positive impact of the day-time provision at Sowing Seeds Tuition and why services like ours are so important.
In September, we welcome Stacey as our Learning and Wellbeing Centre Manager, and will launch our specially designed wellbeing package and training to support for our team. This will support them and also enables them to provide the best tuition and wellbeing service to children in our community.
We have already invested in training for our tutors and team to be trained as:
